Touchbase: an AI-assisted workflow from ad to landing page

One structured brief that connects paid, creative, design, data, and engineering.

Problem

The message in an ad could drift from the landing page, because paid, creative, design, data, and engineering were working from different inputs.

What I did

I designed Touchbase: one structured brief plus a framework that maps four page formats to audience awareness and intent. AI drafts from the brief, and the team reviews the decisions that matter.

Result

Every team works from the same brief, and each page starts from the ad angle instead of a blank canvas.

Context

Marketing and design were working from different inputs, so the message users saw in an ad could drift from the experience they found on the landing page.

The challenge was not simply creating pages faster. It was creating a shared structure that connected the ad angle, audience, page format, and implementation. That structure became Touchbase.

The problem wasn't the landing page. It was the handoff.

Paid, creative, design, data, and engineering were contributing at different stages of the process. That created three recurring problems.

01
The ad angle could get lost between teams.
02
Design reviews became increasingly difficult to resolve.
03
Building and tracking each page required too much manual work.

A landing page should match the user's intent.

Instead of treating every visitor the same, I mapped four landing-page formats to different levels of awareness and purchase intent.

What I changed

01
Align the brief
Create one structured input shared across paid, creative, design, and engineering.
02
Generate and refine
Use AI to create an initial direction, then focus human review on the decisions that matter.
03
Build in-house
Move production closer to the team instead of relying on an external page builder.
04
Standardize tracking
Define the tracking structure before the page goes live.

Where AI helps, and where people decide.

AI speeds up the first draft. The judgment calls stay with the team.

AI drafts

A first version of each page variant, generated directly from the structured brief so it starts from the right audience, angle, and format.

I decide, with the team

Which format matches the visitor’s intent, whether the page keeps the promise made in the ad, and what gets built, reviewed, and tracked before launch.

Outcome

Paid, creative, design, data, and engineering work from the same brief, so the ad angle carries through to the page.

Each page variant starts from an AI draft built on the right audience, angle, and format, and review time goes to the decisions that need people.

Tracking is defined before a page goes live, so results can be read the same way across formats.

What I learned

The biggest challenge was not designing the interface. It was creating a structure that different teams could actually share.

The important shift was making the audience and intent the starting point, rather than asking teams to work from abstract marketing concepts.

That made the workflow easier to understand, easier to build, and easier to reuse.
